sing the power of decision gives you the capacity to get past any excuse to change any and every part of your life in an instant. ~Anthony Robbins
Often times, it is not about which decision is right, but about making the one you choose the right one. Indeed life is not risky- not making the most out of it is. “If you choose not to decide, you still have made a choice”
You also build momentum while decision making. If you hesitate on the smaller decisions you’re not going to be able to make the big decisions later. Practice being decisive with the smaller decisions and you’ll be better equipped for the larger ones that come along. A 40% mostly right decision right now is better than a 100% correct decision too late!
So What if I choose wrong? People are so worried about choosing the wrong choice or Going down the wrong path. “Wasting” time, resources and energy on the wrong thing. Usually, The only bad decision is indecision, followed by inaction.
Here are some tips that might help you make that Decision you have to make today!
1. Try some deep breathing before you start. It helps clear your mind so that you are calmly figuring out the solution, instead of frantically worrying about outcomes.
2. Make a list of your options. It may seem like there is only one choice of action, but that is usually not true. Although your situation seems to be limited, try to make a list of alternatives. Refrain from evaluating at this point; brainstorm and write down every idea that comes to mind, as crazy as it may seem. Then you can work through them, crossing off what doesn’t seem like the right choice for you.
3. Listen to your gut. You need to feel some comfort with the decision. On your list, place markings next to those decisions that are backed up by your gut.
4. Make a decision. This is always the hardest part, but there will hopefully be a choice on your list that is backed up by both logic and intuition. If you are still having a hard time choosing maybe you can ask for advice from people you trust. This can be a good tie-breaker on those items on your list you can’t decide between!
It comes down to, the only bad decision is indecision, because it leads to inaction.
